Sales is Much Like Gender
10 years ago I learned a powerful revenue session I'll always remember. It is the distinction between 'million dollar salespeople' and salespeople who are shattered - dwelling hand to fist month after month. It was pointed out if you ask me there are two types of salesmen. One sort gets rich. Another kind of salesman gets up unemployed every single day hoping and looking for the next guide, and the next sale. That mentor explained to me that "Sales is much like viagra." You can either be considered a "one evening stand" or a for life."Regardless of your marital beliefs, the best thing about sales is you can have dozens or even hundreds of partners for life. You accomplish that by developing the attitude of a Million Dollar Salesperson. These rare folks have created the knowledge that follow-up isn't some adorable customer support thing that wastes your time and effort. Follow-up is really a business building activity - a marketing and sales activity which will reward you ten-fold. Just exemplary salesmen followup religiously. It's the average salesman who believes that follow-up is taking them far from making sales. That complicated way of thinking may be the reasons why many salespeople are dead broke. So have a good hard look at your own private actions. Do you follow up in a systematic approach with every new customer you cause board - or do you have a bunch of one night stands? Though it may appear great at nightclubs - the reputation will cost you tens of thousands and possibly even countless thousands of dollars in the business world.Start looking at your follow up as a marketing and sales activity that provides you with the feedback, regions of progress and opportunities that may make you a thousand dollar sales person too! This can be a considerable area of business development - not only a fluffy-feel-good. Plant the best seeds - it'll pay you if you're continually chronic. Turn your clients into friends and on its head they'll turn your bank account.
