This may be the very first time in the United Kingdom that the exhibition has been devoted to this extremely influential mixture. Over the past 15 years Viktor & Rolf have taken the fashion world by surprise using their particular mixture of awesome irony and surreal beauty. The House of Viktor & Rolf gifts each of the designer's signature items from 1992 to now, found in a particularly commissioned and usually theatrical installation that dominates the whole Gallery. Pieces are included by highlights from 1998-99, Atomic Bomb, offering extraordinary mushroom cloud-like padded necklines and Russian Doll, 1999-2000, when a simple product was carefully dressed by Viktor & Rolf until she was gasping under 70 kilogrammes of delightful haute couture. For the collection Bells, 2000-2001, designs emerged from the smoke-filled house in clothes embroidered with countless brass bells, so they were heard before they might be seen.Drawing on the Dutch history of silver plating a baby's first boot as a keepsake, the climax of Viktor & Rolf's Autumn/Winter collection of 2006-07, was a strapless wedding gown with an extensive petticoated knee length skirt, silver plated, including also the bride's bouquet. To book seats please just click here and do not forget to check out their Funky Profile.
