A brand new google zoekmachine Earth map shows the destructive influence a rise in temperature might have on various areas of the world. The active device, which was published by the UK's coalition government, aims to encourage the question on carbon emissions and climate change. It employs new warnings that - based on existing international carbon pledges - the earth's temperature is defined to rise by an average of not exactly 4C, which can lead to sea level rises, forest fires and drought. The online map reveals how temperature rises vary substantially around the world. The posts glow red, with a potential rise all the way to 10C, while northern Europe escapes with light orange 2-3C increases. Different hot places like the Amazon jungle stand out.Climate change minister Greg Barker said: "It doesn't make nice viewing and underlines the risk to individual and national security when we do not act now."Deforestation is one of the primary reasons for climate change. In only 24 hours, recording may relieve the maximum amount of carbon in to the atmosphere as 8 million people flying from London to New York. The great news is that measures to handle deforestation are beginning to make a difference. A recent report reveals world wide generation of illegal timber has dropped by a per cent since 2002 while Brazil, Cameroon and Indonesia, have seen levels fall by a huge 50 to 75 per cent.It has been calculated that since 2002, 17m hectares of forest have been preserved from deforestation, preventing the discharge of up 1.2bn tonnes of carbon in to the atmosphere. However, there is still a long way to go before countries achieve sustainable management of the tropical forests.
